Victor Osimhen, a former target of Manchester United, has declared his interest by stating that there is “no better place” than Napoli.

The Nigerian striker has been linked with a move away from Napoli after their successful Serie A campaign last season, with Manchester United, Arsenal, and Bayern Munich among the clubs interested in signing him.

However, Osimhen seems content with life in Naples and expressed his happiness with the city’s football-crazy atmosphere.

He highlighted the admiration and support he receives from the fans and emphasized his desire to win more trophies with Napoli.

Speaking to Soccernet, via Sportbild, the Nigerian striker said: “I’ve never seen a more football-crazy city than Naples. The Neapolitans show all their love for footballers.

“Children love me, many people admire me, idolize me by wearing a replica of my mask. The hard work I’ve done for them has paid off.

“Now they’re showing me that they admire me for it. This is my first major trophy as a professional,” he added. “Now I’m addicted to titles.

“I can’t wait for the new season to start. For me, there is no better place than this. I’m very happy that I made the right decision to come here.”

Although there have been speculations about a potential transfer, Osimhen’s comments suggest that he is not in a rush to leave.

He still has two years remaining on his Napoli contract, and the club’s director, Aurelio de Laurentiis, has consistently expressed his desire to keep the striker.

If Napoli were to consider selling Osimhen, it would likely require a significant transfer fee. Reports suggest that the club is seeking over £100 million for the Nigerian forward this summer.

Man Utd, considering the difficulty in securing Osimhen’s signature, has turned their attention to alternative options such as Harry Kane, Randal Kolo Muani, and Ramsus Hojlund.

However, acquiring any of these players would also come with a high price tag as their respective clubs demand a premium for their services.
