Nigerian producer and music mogul, Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has finally opened up about why he failed to sign some of the biggest names in the Nigerian music industry.

Don Jazzy, the brain behind the successful Mavin Records, disclosed that his first choice would have been to sign the afrobeats sensation, Wizkid. However, fate had a different plan as the Starboy was quickly snatched away by EME boss, Banky W.
It’s a bitter pill to swallow for Don Jazzy, who admits that having Wizkid in his roster would have been an extraordinary achievement.
But it doesn’t end there. Don Jazzy’s missed opportunities extended to the sensational Davido. Surprisingly, the Mavin head honcho chose not to sign the “OBO” himself.
Why? Don Jazzy realized that Davido possessed an extraordinary talent that would inevitably lead him to success, even without the backing of a record label. It was a calculated risk, and it seems that Don Jazzy’s intuition served him well in this case.
