Ibadan Shootings in the vast majority of the city, following the inauguration of Nigeria’s newly sworn-in president, pandemonium erupted in Ibadan just a few days later. Gunshots were reported in various locations in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.

Since the inauguration of new President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday, security in some parts of the city has been precarious. Mukaila Lamidi (auxillary), the chairman of the Park management system’s disciplinary committee, was fired. When men from the PMS suspected of being loyal to the fired chairman went around shooting intermittently in protest, the ibadab shooting crisis arose.

Although numerous explanations have been provided as to why the Ibadan  shooting began, the exact cause is unknown.

According to a source, it was the newly sworn-in president’s contemplation that led to rivalry between opposing groups.

According to another account, the PMS lads engaged in a gunfight with members of the Amokotun corps and security officers. The suspects were said to be driving slowly through key portions of the sickness.

Officers were deployed in a variety of locations, including Iyara Church, Iwo Road Alathia, Total Garden, Agodi Gate, Nokola, and Monaten, among others.
The Police spokesman requested to make a statement on the subject. On Wednesday, police personnel were deployed to the Ibadan shooting sites, and a few (178) people were apprehended. In revenge for the member’s arrest, another set began filming in several locations.

The police force has released a statement saying ” All hands are on deck and working together to solve this situation and keep the people of Ibadan safe. Residents should keeps their heads down and only comes out when absolutely necessary. Please bear with us, we are here to protect and serve you. Any inconvenience caused would be apologized for.”
