After a landslide victory at the Anambra governorship elections, The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has presented a Certificate of Return to the Governor-elect of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner in Anambra State, Nkwachukwu Orji presented the certificate to Soludo and the Deputy Governor-elect, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, on Friday.

Soludo was named winner of last Saturday’s governorship election after emerging with the highest number of votes.
Recall that Professor Chukwuma Soludo won 19 out of 21 local government areas, while Ifeanyi Uba of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) won in Nnewi North and Valentine Ozigbo of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) won in Ogbaru local government areas.
Speaking during the presentation, Orji appealed to Soludo to uphold good governance.

On his election as governor, Soludo had said the victory is that of Anambra people and also a divine journey whose time has come. “For 12 years, I have consistently endured and focussed on the mission. I have served the world, Nigeria, and it is now time to serve my own state. I am grateful to God, stakeholders and especially ordinary people of Anambra State. I feel humbled by this mandate which is overwhelming as it were despite the issues.”
