Inter Milan Calls Off Deal To Secure Romelu Lukaku

Inter Milan has pulled out from the recent move to secure Romelu Lukaku’s signature during the ongoing transfer window.

The club was recently facing frustration and disappointment with Romelu Lukaku, as the Chelsea forward was allegedly ignoring messages from his teammates and manager amidst growing interest from Juventus.

Lukaku had been granted extended time away from Chelsea, while his fellow players have already reported back for pre-season training.

Gianluca Di Marzio, an Italian journalist, reported that Inter Milan was irritated by Lukaku’s attitude, noting his lack of response to both the coaching staff and his former teammates.

Furthermore, Inter had become aware of a potential opening for Lukaku at Juventus, a team he previously claimed he would never play for out of respect for Inter.

Juventus has allegedly offered £32 million, with an additional £1.5 million in add-ons, while Inter is prepared to present a similar deal with a lower upfront payment.

However, Juventus’ offer hinges on the sale of striker Dusan Vlahovic by August 4th, whereas Chelsea prefers a swift resolution to Lukaku’s departure.

The main issue at hand was Lukaku’s behavior, which was perceived as hindering Inter Milan’s progress in finalizing the deal.

It was mentioned in the report that Lukaku expressed interest in Juventus and had communicated with the club through his lawyer.

Consequently, according to information reaching SurgeZirc NG on Saturday afternoon, Inter Milan has abandoned the pursuit of Lukaku.

Chelsea, eager to facilitate Lukaku’s departure promptly, aims to provide manager Mauricio Pochettino with sufficient time to work with the squad and plan for the new season without Lukaku’s presence.

Despite Inter Milan’s decision, he is expected to return on Monday but won’t travel to USA with the squad, says Fabrizio Romano.

He further hinted that Pochettino never spoke to Lukaku as Chelsea want him to leave. Juventus, Saudi or any other club ready to pay €40m can have Lukaku.

Meanwhile, Juventus can only proceed if they sell Vlahović.
