Inter Milan have expressed their interest in signing Folarin Balogun, a young striker from Arsenal and the US Men’s National Team (USMNT).

The Italian club is actively seeking to bolster their forward line during the current summer transfer window, and they are think the 22-year-old player is the best fit for their team at San Siro.

Negotiations have been underway between the representatives of Balogun and Inter Milan.

While there has not yet been a formal offer between the clubs, it is anticipated that an offer of approximately €40 million (£34.3 million) will be made.

However, Arsenal values Balogun at around £50 million. Inter Milan’s pursuit of Balogun comes after their failed attempt to sign Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku.

Inter’s latest bid for the Belgian striker was rejected by Chelsea, as the Premier League club is holding out for a fee in the range of €45 million.

Balogun, who spent last season on loan at Inter Milan, returned to the club following a disappointing 2021-22 campaign with Chelsea.

During the loan period, he only managed to score 15 goals in 44 matches across all competitions.

The young forward has hinted that he is not keen on going out on loan again, expressing uncertainty about his long-term future at Arsenal.

During an interview in June, Balogun stated, “I definitely won’t go on loan again. I’m not sure about the discussions that will take place, or what will happen.

“But for now, I am committed and focused on the present. I want to enjoy the moment with my team and my family.”

Balogun showcased his talent during an impressive loan spell at French club Reims last season, where he scored 21 goals in 37 appearances in Ligue 1.

However, the negotiations and final agreement between Inter and the Gunners will determine whether the young striker will make the move to San Siro or remain at Arsenal for the upcoming season.
