The Borno State Police Command has claimed that the Islamic State West African Province (ISWAP) terrorists only stole towels, chairs, and bedspreads in a clinic they raided at Magumeri in the state.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the ISWAP fighters also set the surrounding grasses on fire when they attacked Magumeri on Wednesday.

“The terrorists did not loot drugs but took away bedspreads, towels and outpatients chairs in an unused small clinic. They also set fire on the surrounding grasses which did not touch the building,’’ said police commissioner, Abdu Umar.
Umar also revealed that the terrorists suspected to be from a faction of the ISWAP burnt a Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) tower and stole a generator.
“The story going round that the Police Divisional Office in Magumeri was attacked, looted and burnt while two policemen were abducted is not true,” he said.
“The police station was not attacked, and none of the policemen was abducted, and detainees were not released as erroneously claimed.”
Magumeri came under attack on Wednesday evening when the insurgents invaded the community arriving in many trucks.
The gunmen were said to have fired gunshots in all directions when they arrived at the headquarters of the local government.
