Popular Nigerian singer Simi, whose real name is Simisola Kosoko, revealed in a recent interview with reality star Tacha on Cool FM, Lagos, that she has never experienced heartbreak in a relationship.

The mother of one clarified that her latest heartbreak song, ‘Stranger,’ was not inspired by personal experience but rather intended to serve as an anthem for those who have been heartbroken.

Simi stated, “I don’t think I have ever been heartbroken. I don’t know, that song [‘Stranger’] came to me very easily.-

-I suppose maybe I’m just a champion for people who have faced heartbreak repeatedly. I’m here for them.-

-I mean, somebody has to be. And I realized that I think about love a lot, and I felt that one aspect I hadn’t explored in depth was the feeling of being;-

in a relationship where you haven’t received validation, yet you find yourself changing and accepting things you normally wouldn’t.-

-Then one day, you look at yourself in the mirror and realize you don’t recognize the person staring back at you.”

She continued, “I thought that perspective would be nice to sing about or write about. It resonates with my own emotions as well.-
