Nigerian singer Iyanya, whose real name is Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk, has recently opened up about his silence regarding Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson’s allegations against him in her recently published book.
In her book, Nelson claimed that Iyanya had cheated on her with fellow Nigerian actress Tonto Dikeh while they were in a relationship.

Iyanya explained that he has refrained from addressing the accusations because he anticipates facing criticism regardless of his response.
However, Iyanya asserted that he will eventually share his side of the story, regardless of the backlash it may generate.
In a tweet posted on his official Twitter account, the “Kukere” crooner stated, “Y’all waiting for my side of the story? If I talk now, I’ll be accused of kissing and telling, slut-shaming, etc. But something gat to give, so wait for it.”
This statement from Iyanya comes shortly after Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie released a new song titled “Try Me” to counter Yvonne Nelson’s claims that he impregnated her in 2010 and drove her to the clinic to have an abortion.
In his song, Sarkodie vehemently denied the allegations and asserted that he had opposed Nelson’s decision to terminate the pregnancy. He further revealed that he had urged her to keep the baby, but she had insisted on having the abortion due to her commitment to schooling at the time.
Although Sarkodie admitted that he was not prepared to be a father during that period, he emphasized that he had advocated for the pregnancy to be carried to term.
In light of these recent developments, Iyanya’s decision to eventually share his perspective on the matter hints at a desire to address the accusations and provide his own account of the events in question.
