The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced plans to admit returnee students from Sudan and other war-torn nations to Nigerian universities.
This was revealed in a statement issued on Wednesday by JAMB spokesman Fabian Benjamin.
He stated that the modalities were a result of a high-level conference between the Federal Ministry of Education, the Federal Ministry of Health, JAMB, the Nigeria in Diaspora Commission, the National Universities Commission, and other key stakeholders.

According to JAMB, the discussion focused on integrating Nigerian students from war-torn nations into the country’s tertiary education system.
Prof Is-haq Oloyede, the JAMB registrar, stated that it was critical while presenting the modalities.
Universities were provided instructions on how to process applications for foreign and local inter-university transfers.
“According to the latest advisory on procedures for emergency transfers of returning students, each of them is mandated to do a retroactive registration with the education ministry,” the exam board registrar noted.
“They are to visit the returnee application page on IBASS, which is accessible from the JAMB website,” he added, “where the returnee students would upload their registration slips and complete the transfer of personal data.”
