Kano State Government declares a one-week holiday celebration for all private, public and boarding school on Eid-el-Kabir.
Kano State’s Ministry of Education issued a week off for schools (including Day and Boarding Public/Private Primary and Post Primary Schools) on Thursday to commemorate Eid-el-Kabir.

The announcement was made by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Ahmad Tijjani Abdullahi, in a statement given to journalists through the Ministry’s Director of Public Enlightenment, Aliyu Yusuf.
The break, he said, will last from Friday, June 23 to Saturday, July 1, 2023, with boarding school students returning on Sunday, July 2, and day school students returning on Monday, July 3.
The Kano State Ministry of Education has approved Friday, June 23, 2023 as the start date for Eid-el-Fitr Sallah Break for all public and private primary and secondary schools in the state, both day and boarding.
As a result, Parents/Guardians of Pupils and Students in Boarding Schools are required to transport their wards home by the early hours of the said Day (Friday).
The sallah Break, which will last one week, is scheduled to end on Saturday 1st July 2023, therefore, all Boarding School students will return on Sunday 2nd July, while Day School students will return on Monday 3rd July 2023.
Malam Ahmad Tijjani Abdullahi, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, urged Parents/Guardians of Pupils and Students of the Schools to ensure compliance with the approved resumption dates.

While wishing them a Happy Sallah in advance, he encourages them to be useful to their parents and avoid wandering around unnecessarily during the Sallah break.
The statement added, The Permanent Secretary also warned that appropriate Disciplinary Action would be taken against defaulting students.
