Kevin De Bryune, 31, Manchester City’s midfielder, has sustained a hamstring injury that will make him miss the start of the new season. Towards the end of the Champions League match between Manchester City Vs Inter Milan earlier this month, Kevin had hobbled of the pitch.

After the match which had resulted in a victory for Manchester City, scans showed that the football star had sustained a Grade Three hamstring tear. Despite not requiring a surgery over the summer, the Man city midfielder will be unable to partake in the Community Shield against the Gunners.

Furthermore, Kevin will be unavailable six days afterwards when the Treble-winners launch their Premier League defence away to Burnley. However, Manchester City’s medical team are confident that the club’s injured starplayer will be able to make a reappearance, at least from the bench, for its European Super Cup clash against Sevilla, scheduled to take place in Athens on August 16.

At the moment, De Bryune has orders to rest the injury prior to the properly beginning of his rehab in preseason by next month. But it is expected that he’ll join his teammates for the club’s Far East tour. Regardless, he is only allowed to continue his recovery and not take part in any of the games.

Manchester City are set to face Yokohama FM on July 22 and thereafter, Bayern Munich on July 26. The match against Bayern Munich is to take place in Tokyo. They’re then due to play at Seoul against Atletico Madrid in the preseason’s final fixture scheduled for July 30.

Pep Guardiola hopes to have Chelsea midfielder, Mateo Kovacic, on his team for those fixtures after Manchester City agreed with Chelsea to sign him for an initial bid of £25 million. Meanwhile, Ilkay Gundogan is ready to move to Barcelona.

De Bryune has already completed half of his four-year deal at Etihad and should be set to move along by 2025. The Belgian player, after eight years in the club, has made 38 direct goal contributions (28 assists, 10 goals) in 48 appearances last term.

Despite the efficiency of the squad present at Etihad, having Kevin De Bryune out of the team during any match will definitely have a significant impact.
