Lady named Chinyere Awuda, was allegedly battered to death inside the Cosmila Hotel in Awka, the capital of Anambra State, where she went clubbing.
The body of the deceased, who was from Nnobi in the state’s Idemili South Local Government Area, was discovered the next morning near the hotel’s swimming pool, where it had been thrown.

According to SurgeZirc NG, the event occurred on Saturday when some friends of a man celebrating his birthday threw money at him as he was dancing at the hotel.
The hotel has now been closed down by the state government.
On Thursday, our journalist learned that she was beaten to death for reportedly picking some of the money sprayed on the birthday celebrant.
When chaos broke out at the club, a man and his buddies began hitting her after she was accused of grabbing money off the floor.
When they apprehended her, she was beaten. Her deceased body was eventually discarded in the hotel’s swimming pool after she was carried outside the club.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, verified the event to our correspondent and stated that the man who celebrated his birthday and his pals were already detained while the case was being probed.
In connection with the event, we have four individuals in custody.

Meanwhile, the Anambra State Government promptly blocked off the hotel when reports of the tragedy became public.
According to Onyeji, the CCTV camera was collected from the hotel administration and the tape of the incident was being analysed to determine the true reason of the occurrence.
