Lagos state government has begun demolishing the Alaba International Market buildings Ojo Local Government on Friday.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the joint exercise was carried out by the enforcement teams of the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) and the Lagos State Task Force.
The team that went around re-sealing various buildings that had previously received repeated quit seal notifications from LASBCA stated that the move was taken to prevent tragedy.
They recommended tenants to leave the structurally deficient structures, which they claimed had become too dangerous to live in.

The general manager stated that he had developed a phobia for rain as a result of the persistent concern of substandard structures falling, prompting him to take the proactive move to save lives.

All of those structures will be demolished between now and Monday, according to a warning issued by LASBCA.
