Chelsea’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who wasn’t meant to depart with the rest of the squad for the US on Monday will be back in Cobham by today.
His club is in talks with Marseille for the 34-year-old striker’s transfer this summer, demanding a paltry fee of €6 million instead of letting him leave on a free transfer.

Renowned football writer Fabrizio Romano has announced that the striker and Marseille have agreed to a three-year contract.
Meanwhile, both the player and the club are interested in going their separate ways, with Aubameyang already being offered to Saudi Arabia.
Marseille are now left to cross-examine their options and determine whether or not they are willing to meet the demands for the striker’s signature.
If the deal pulls through successfully, the Gabon international will have a fresh chance to prove himself in France.
This wouldn’t be Aubameyang’s first time in France as he has played for different clubs in the country including Dijon, Monaco, St Etienne, and Lille.
Meanwhile, this will be very much needed if he is to redeem his career which had faced a dip during his stay in Chelsea, much to everyone’s disappointment.
Aubameyang joined Chelsea under Thomas Tuchel during last summer but found himself mostly on the bench, even during the knockout stages of the Champions League under Graham Potter.
His suitors see him as a significant addition to the squad.
Chelsea’s demand for a fee only shows the club’s interest in regaining some of the £10 million they spent in securing the services of the striker who arrived from Barca a year ago.

The 34-year-old still has a year left on his spell with the blues. The agreed fee was a weekly £200,000.
Meanwhile, the blues have been in negotiations with Al-Hilal and Juventus for Lukaku after his previous suitors, Inter, pulled out of the pursuit.
