Military Experts Warn Tinubu Against Amensty For Bandits

Military and Security experts have advised President Tinubu to support the Chief of Army Staff, in his determination that there should be “no amnesty for bandits” and other criminal groups.

The veterans stated that while the military has the capability to quell all disturbances throughout the country, it cannot do so without the order of Mr. President, who is the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces.

According to analysis, the Army Chief lacks the authority to rule out amnesty for criminals because he follows orders from the president and commander-in-chief.

Brig. Gen. Sani Kukasheka Usman (rtd), a former Army spokesman, stated that discussion was a step in the right direction.

Major Banjo Daniel (rtd), a public and private security analyst and trainer, also stated that the Army, while ambitious, lacks the authority to cancel the amnesty plan.

“The Chief of Army Staff cannot rule out amnesty for bandits and terrorists unless he is in agreement with the commander-in-chief,” he began.

He is a ruthless Chief of Army Staff. Banjo claimed that the administration had become too cosy with criminal elements, who should be discouraged.

“Nigeria has become a country that welcomes crime.”

He wasn’t just negotiating with kidnappers, he was also friendly with them. So we’ve accepted criminals, which is sad since returning to normalcy is difficult,” Daniel remarked.

He held religious and traditional authorities responsible for the numerous deaths and loss of life.
