Troops from the Joint Task Force Operation Whirl Punch have killed two known bandits terrorizing Sabon Birni in Kaduna state’s Igabi Local Government Area.

This was announced in a statement on Tuesday, he said that the two bandits’ leaders, including Isiya Danwasa, were acting on “a tip-off from a human intelligence source.”
He went on to say that the bandits were ambushed and successfully neutralized, and that their weapons, ammunition, and other equipment were collected.
Intelligence sources revealed that the bandits’ leader, Danwasa, intended to send his men, Yahaya said. Asa planned to send his messenger boy Yunusa to Kaduna town to get some rifles and ammo.
He said that the errand boy was followed and apprehended by plainclothes soldiers before being used to lure two of the bandits’ kingpins to a certain ammo gathering spot. When they arrived, troops who had set up an ambush engaged the criminals with superior firepower and neutralized the two bandits leaders, the army official continued.
Yahaya stated that the culprits were found with one motorcycle, two AK 47 rifles, six AK 47 magazines, 250 rounds of 7.62 mm special, one power bank, two charm vests, and N200,000.

He stated that the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Nigerian Army’s 1 Division, who is also the Force Commander, Joint Major. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, Force Commander, Joint assignment Force Operation Whirl Punch, Nigerian Amy, praised the troops for their professionalism and flawless performance.
He added that Lagbaja has also directed the military to pursue all bandits with no mercy.
According to the statement, the GOC urged the people to “continue to provide credible and actionable information to troops and other security agencies in order to bring banditry, kidnapping, and other crimes to a permanent end.”
