Nigerian singer, actor, and entrepreneur, Olubankole Wellington, popularly known by his stage name Banky W, has revealed that his new album, ‘The Bank Statements,’ has been completed.
Since his cult classic ‘R&BW’ in 2013, Banky W hasn’t released a studio album.
During a talk on the YouTube channel of pastor and certified relationship counselor Kingsley Okonkwo about his new album, the singer disclosed that the title would be ‘The Bank Statements.’
“I’ve taken a break for a few years.” I have heard it claimed that artists never retire; they simply stop when they run out of stories to tell. And in the previous five years, I’ve really lived a lot of lives. Banky W remarked, “I have a lot of things to tell about love, relationships, God, country, and life.”
“I’ve written down what I consider to be a life; it’s called ‘The Bank Statements.'” Consider your bank statement for the months of January through December as a snapshot of your life.
“What is important to you, and what are you spending your money on?” If you look at your bank statement from the previous year, it will simply show you how your life is.”

Banky outlined the album’s concept, which includes a song for each month of the year.
“So the album is named Bank’s Statement because it’s Banky’s statement as well as theoretically, and there’s a song for every month of the year,” he explained.
“There is a song for January and December because you must begin and end the year with God.” There’s a Valentine’s Day song in February, thus it’s a love song to my baby.

“Because my birthday is in March, there’s a turnup-style song for my birthday.”
Because pregnancy takes nine months, the album’s ninth song, ‘Champ Song,’ is dedicated to our son.
“It’s an album that’s really deliberate, thoughtful, inventive, and powerful. It’s actually my favorite album because I can now sing about love from the perspective of someone who is currently experiencing it.”
