My employees have vacation homes in different countries across the globe and I don’t have any, says Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote.

One of Africa’s wealthiest men has stated that, while some of his employees have vacation homes in other countries, he does not. The business mogul also provided some advice on how to succeed as a person in the business world.

Dangote remarked in an interview with Business Insider Africa that was just released on the Tonyelumelufoundation’s verified Instagram account.

“A lot of people, even the younger ones, we need to be very careful because one of the biggest issues.” It is how we Africans spend our expected incomes.

Once you start doing business and the business starts doing well, instead of continuing to invest in the business, you start spending money and expecting the profit to keep coming.

There will be ups and downs in business, but you must remain focused and say, Okay fine, what do you do and how do you do those things?

The CEO also suggested that buying expensive items could be a distraction. Luxury things also take up your time, which will not make you focus on your business, Dangote said.

Using himself as an example, “I mean, I don’t have a vacation home anyplace, I don’t have a house anywhere, but I know individuals who work for me who do”.

They own a homes in London, US, Europe,  however, I do not.

Dangote who recently topped the charts as Africa’s wealthiest man once again after previously loosing the seat to South African Billionaire. Bill Gates was ranked fourth in the world, followed by Adenuga and others.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group, has maintained his position as Africa’s richest man despite a changing Nigerian naira versus the dollar.

Dangote’s fortune was estimated to be worth $15.6 billion.
