Nigeria has confirmed new 245 coronavirus cases, the highest number in a day so far according to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) announcement on Monday, 4th May. The newly confirmed cases were found across 16 states.
Lagos State still maintains the lead as the state with the highest number of infected people. With 76 new cases confirmed, Lagos now sits at a total of 1,183. Katsina State confirmed 37 new cases, while Jigawa State revealed its confirmed 32 fresh cases.
Kano State confirmed 23 new cases, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja had 19 new cases, and Borno State opened up on 18 fresh cases. Edo State had 10 fresh cases, Bauchi State recorded 9 fresh cases, Adamawa State has 6 new cases, Oyo State 5, and Ogun State 5 as well.
Ekiti State saw 1 new case, Osun State 1, Benue State 1, Niger State, and Zamfara recorded one, one too. The latest result from NCDC brought Nigeria to a total of 2,802 confirmed cases in 34 states.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control update also shows that 17 people were discharged after recovery, while 6 new deaths were confirmed raising the country’s death toll to 93. In all, 417 people have been discharged after recovery.
