Nigeria has confirmed 170 fresh coronavirus cases following an announcement by the county’s Center for Disease Control (NCDC), thereby bringing the most populous nation in Africa to a total of 2558 caese.

The NCDC had on Saturday, May 3, 2020, reported the confirmation of new cases in 11 states, including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The organization reported that 39 of the fresh cases were confirmed in Lagos, 29 in Kano, 24 in Ogun, 18 in Bauchi and 15 in Kaduna state.

Lagos State remains the epicenter of the coronavirus in Nigeria with 1107 cases, followed by Kano State with 342 cases only.
Abuja and Sokoto saw 12 new cases each, while Katsina and Borno have eight and seven cases only. There were about three cases in Nasarawa, two in Adamawa and one only in Oyo.

However, 400 patients of the coronavirus victims were reportedly cared for and they recovered and have been discharged from isolation centers. There were two unfortunate deaths on Sunday which has brought the coronavirus deaths toll in the country to 87.
