Abia State, former Gov. Orji Uzor Kalu has been ordered to remain in Kuje Prison as the judgement of the Supreme Court which released Ude Jones Udeogu does not affect him.
The Supreme Court did not issue any order for Orji Uzor Kalu’s release because he did not file any application for his release.
The judgement from the Apex Court only mentions Mr Ude Jones Udeogu, who challenged the propriety of a Court of Appeal Judge, Justice Mohammed Idris to try him.

The Comptroller-General of Nigeria Correctional Service Mr Jaafar Ahmed refused to release Kalu as he did not receive any order from the Supreme Court to do so.
Former Gov. Orji Uzor Kalu may have to write to the Court of Appeal, where he has a pending matter, to ask for his release following the dismissal of the judgement of the Federal High Court, Lagos by the Supreme Court.
