Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari is set to address the nation at 8 pm on Monday, April 27, 2020, the presidency stated.
“Television, radio and other electronic media stations are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) respectively for the broadcast,” Buhari’s media aide, Femi Adesina, announced.
Nigerians are expecting Buhari to give an update on his administration’s efforts towards fighting the coronavirus in the country.
The highlight of the address will revolve around the president’s lockdown of Lagos, Ogun and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The Nigerian leader had ordered all three locations locked down since March 30 in an effort to contain the outbreak of the coronavirus.
So far, Nigeria has recorded confirmed 1,273 coronavirus cases in 32 states and the FCT, as of April 26 with 239 people recovered and 40 people died.
