Asisat Oshoala, the Nigerian female footballer who had taken off her shirt during an ongoing match on Thursday, has sparked mixed reaction in the internet.

While many praised her feat, paying no heed to the shirtless celebration gesture, a lot more have aired their opinion about her pulling off her shirt.

The Nigerian international who also plays for the ladies’ squad of Barcelona football club had made the gesture during a match between the Nigerian Super Falcons and Australia’s Women team on Thursday.

The match, which took place on Thursday at the Brisbane Stadium, ended in a 3-2 victory in favor of the Nigerians.

The 28-year-old had secured the winning goal in the 72nd minute of the match.

Yesterday’s goal had made her become the first African to score at three different tournaments in the Women’s World Cup.

During the wild celebration that followed, Oshoala had taken off her shirt in excitement as she ran to the sidelines to jubilate with her teammates.

Sadly, the action earned the Barcelona forward a yellow card which she didn’t seem to care about.

During the celebration, a Nigerian pharmacist, popularly known as Chlorpheniramine (@VictorIsrael_) had casually said “Since when Tinubu stole our mandate, this is the first time in months since Nigerians were ever genuinely happy.

“Asisat Oshoala is who she thinks she is. Show some love.”

Another Twitter user (@rutie_xx) had jokingly said that Oshoala she played better than world champions Messi and Ronaldo.

However some people had criticized Oshoala’s action, with one person mentioning that the yellow card she got could affect the team much later if they went far enough in the tournament.
