Omokri encouraged the president in a message on his official Twitter handle to stop sponsoring medical trips for himself or any elected or appointed government officials, as well as to reduce the number of vehicles in his convoy.
This, he claims, will save Nigeria a lot of money that can be put to greater use. He did, however, applaud the Federal Government’s decision to discontinue direct support of professional groups and councils like as the National Examination Council (NECO) and the West African Examination Council (WAEC) from 2026.
Omokri, also known as the #tableshaker, tweeted, “President Tinubu has done well in terminating Federal Government funding for professional bodies and councils. But that is not the most important government waste.
In addition, the President should stop funding foreign healthcare for himself and any elected or appointed public official.

He may also wish to discontinue Federal Government financing of pilgrims to Mecca and Jerusalem, tagging it unnecessary and a waste of Nigerias funds.
Both gestures would save the nation far more than the crumbs from the table that end up in professional groups and councils. In addition, we should set a good example by avoiding a 120-car convoy.
