Losing a loved one is never easy and it might take you years to heal. Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde recently bore out her soul on how the death of her father had affected her.
Speaking in an interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo, of YNaija the actress said everything she has become both in the negative and positive light all stemmed from that experience.’

Omotola went on to let the viewers know of the wonderful relationship she shared with her dad and she still recalls like it was yesterday how he would take her to the Lagos Country Club where he worked as a manager.
The actress said it was her first experience of rolling with influential people and it eventually became an experience that didn’t mean so much to her. The star had to go away from her family as she was sent to boarding school in Kano State at the age of 9. “I remember when he was leaving, we were both crying. And as a child it kind of affected me because I thought he had other kids and I was no longer important to him,” Omotola recounted.
Sharing further, the movie star noted that at the age of 12 she started fantasizing about the idea of spending more time with her dad just like they used to do in the past. The actress disclosed that on a fateful day, officials from school came to inform her that she had to return home. A young Omotola said no one told her what happened but she knew it had something to do with death.

“I knew somebody had died, everybody in my school was tiptoeing. I think they told them but didn’t tell me. I knew something was wrong, the only thing I kept saying was I hope it’s not my dad,” she said.
Omotola said getting home to meet a crown in front of her house and how she eventually saw her wailing mother before realizing that her dad was the one who died. According to her, the experience has affected her up to adulthood. Omotola said she became really numb and emotionless and it is the reason why there’s nothing people can say that will affect her. “It was like something died in me.”
