Latest figures released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has revealed that over 2million Nigerians who started their voters pre-registration online are yet to visit INEC office to complete the physical process.

According to the figures released on Monday 3,558,360 fresh registrants have pre-registered online but only 1,308,443 have completed the physical process at INEC offices. Specifically, this leaves a whooping 2,249,917 pre-registered citizens who are yet to complete the process.

Recall that INEC introduced the online pre-registration process to allow Nigerians commence the process online in a bid to ensure the physical process is more seamless. The online presents an opportunity for the accurate capture of voters’ data. It also creates an opportunity for more eligible voters to commence their registration with ease, and hopefully reduce the pressure at the physical centers.
