PDP alerts Gov Alia on an ex-terrorist suspect threatening to attack Benue residents. The group urged state governor Hyacinth Alia to conduct a thorough investigation.
The Al-Tershak Global Security Ltd. contract to return internally displaced people (IDPs) to their homes was challenged by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Benue State chapter on the grounds that the company’s owner is allegedly an ex-profiled international terrorist suspect.

Bemgba Iortyom, the party’s spokeswoman, made the claim in a statement and cited the news of Tashaku’s arrest by the Nigerian Army on April 30, 2018, for allegedly being a member of the Boko Haram terrorist organization and for his alleged involvement in killings in the state.
We want to recommend the governor to profile the owner of the security outfit based on his ancestry, he said. “The security outfit owned by Alhaji Aliyu Tashaku was inaugurated last Saturday by the present administration with the objective of returning back displaced farmers by the killer herdsmen to their ancestral homes.”
“PDP notes that Alhaji Tashaku in his address at the occasion revealed that the inaugurated security outfit is under the overall command of a Fulani man, and from the list available, its officers are also primarily of Fulani ethnic stock, which raises the question of how such an outfit will achieve its stated objective to return Benue farmers to their land?”
Will Fulani men now enter and engage in combat with their brothers to drive them from the territories they have seized and occupied in Benue and return those lands to the indigenous farmers who have been driven off their land?
Should the people of Benue anticipate this to be the kind of premise upon which the government of Governor Hyacinth Alia will undertake security initiatives to facilitate the promised return of IDPs to their homes?
Although Aliyu Tashaku had used the opportunity to assert that he had a lengthy background in security operations across Nigeria and had worked with several security agencies, the reality is that he is currently being profiled by the very security agencies he claims to have worked with.

In order to fulfill his promise to return Benue farmers to their ancestral lands from where they were driven out by the same terrorists that Alhaji Aliyu Tershaku had over the years been linked with.
He said, “Governor Alia should, therefore, as a matter of urgency, clarify to the people of Benue how he intends to use a profiled suspected international terrorist.”
