PDP crisis continues as Mr Wike vowed to answer to both the party’s flagbearer and PDP chieftains, which he referred to as Atiku’s “attack dogs” one by one and queue by queue in due time.
Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has accused his party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, of lying about him. He also referred to certain of their party’s leaders as ‘attack dogs’ for Atiku.

Mr Wike’s speech on Friday was his major public reaction to the outcome of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential primaries and the failure of the winner, Atiku, to select him as his running mate.
Mr Wike finished second in the party’s presidential primary, trailing Nigeria’s former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, who received 371 votes.
However, in response to the outcome of the exercise, the governor stated that he preferred to remain silent on the matter out of loyalty to the party.
According to Channels TV, Mr Wike revealed this on Friday at the Port Harcourt International Airport, immediately after returning from a foreign trip.
“I’ve decided to keep quiet because the PDP is a party I adore,” Mr Wike told reporters. “I have completed my social contract with the people of Rivers.” However, it is past time to inform Nigerians of the truth.”
The governor criticised the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku, for making the comment on the same day he announced Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate, despite the fact that he did.
He accused the former vice president of lying against him and of enlisting certain top members of the main opposition party to disseminate lies about him.
The governor promised to respond to both the party’s flagbearer and the party chieftains he referred to as Atiku’s “attack dogs” one by one and queue by queue in due time.
He stated that he would not be forgiven if he did not “set the record straight.” He also vowed to “clear the air” following the commissioning of the state government’s projects scheduled for inauguration.
The governor stated that Atiku had yet to send a representative to the PDP leadership’s reconciliation committee.
He did, however, say that a previous Senate President, Bukola Saraki, met with him in Spain in his personal capacity.

Mr Wike stated that the former vice president came to his residence to ask for support but then did not know how to go there after he chose Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta as his running mate.
The Rivers governor challenged anyone who claimed to have been sent by the PDP candidate to meet with him about the party’s issues and the outcome of the party’s presidential primary to identify himself.
