On resuming, the opposition PDP introduced Mr. Steven Luka-Bivan, a Software Developer, to testify in favour of its petition.

Luka-Bivan, who claimed to be familiar with the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machine, contradicted himself during cross-examination by counsel for the first and second respondents, claiming he had never used a BVAS machine before.

Luka-Bivan, who also said that he was not a member of the BIVAS development team, stated that he merely spoke about the technicalities of the machine.

In a related development, the Defence Counsels, Alhassan Umar SAN for INEC, Duro Adeyele SAN for Uba Sani, and Oladipo Tolani SAN for the APC raised objections after the petitioners’ Lead Counsel, Oluwole Iyamu SAN, stated that they had video evidence to present before the tribunal.

Iyamu also claimed that the tribunal had failed to receive some of the election papers demanded by the tribunal in a subpoena from the Independent National election Commission (INEC).

“We applied to the INEC headquarters in Abuja and made the required payment, but I was shocked to learn today that we need to make another payment.”

“We would make payments today as soon as possible so that we can make progress,” he stated.
