Peter Obi reacted to Tinubu giving appointments to Governors of the PDP and Labour Party, saying ‘we are not fools’.
The Labour Party (LP) and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, have rejected President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s offer to opposition governors such as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Labour Party (LP), and others to recommend candidates for board appointments.

According to SurgeZirc NG sources, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State, Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, revealed at a meeting of the forum that Tinubu asked the governors to nominate competent persons to serve on the boards and parastatals of Federal Government agencies that were dissolved last month.
Following Tinubu’s dissolution of the boards, new nominees are likely to fill almost 2,000 vacant positions.
Tinubu’s dissolution of the governing boards of over 153 agencies, parastatals, institutions, and government-owned corporations, new nominees are anticipated to replace over 2,000 vacant posts on the boards.
According to him, such a subtle action “will not change the fact that Tinubu’s presidency is an illegitimate government.”
“APC is doing everything in their crooked book to ensure they legitimise this government, which we have vehemently opposed,” he stated.
“Sending letters to state governors is part of the process of legitimising their governance,” he continued.
But the fact is, will the APC tell you that they don’t have party members in Abia State to nominate? They intend to co-opt him into their party in an oblique manner.
According to Tai Emeka Obasi, Peter Obi’s media adviser, “as much as what the president is attempting to do appears positive, it is not enough to legitimise his government.”

Debo Ologunagba, the PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, stated, “I am not even aware that the President has asked the governors to make their nominations to the boards of parastatals.”
Also speaking, Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential candidate in the last election, stated that a reply is unnecessary.
