President Bola Tinubu traveled to Paris, France, where he will attend the Global Financing Summit organized by President Emmanuel Macron.

It is Tinubu’s first official overseas travel after taking the oath of office on May 29, 2023.

According to a statement from Dele Alake, Special Adviser to the President on Special Duties, Communication, and Strategy, Tinubu arrived in Paris at 6:47 p.m. local time. He was met at the airport by Kayode Laro, Nigeria’s ambassador to France, as well as other top government representatives from the Nigerian Embassy and French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In preparation for the Summit on New Media, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu landed in Paris, France, on Tuesday.

President Tinubu was received at the airport by Ambassador Kayode Laro and other top government officials from the Nigerian Embassy and French Ministry of Foreign Affairs after the plane touched down at 6.47pm local time.

President Tinubu will receive detailed briefs on Wednesday from Ambassador Laro, Permanent Secretary Adamu Lamuwa, and other officials on Nigeria’s position on the Summit, and the scheduled sideline meetings with leaders and multilateral institutions”, Alake said.

The two-day summit, to be held at Palais Brongniart from June 22 to 23, will consider opportunities to restore fiscal space to countries that face difficult short-term financial challenges, especially the most indebted.

The president is expected back in the country on Saturday, June 24.
