Kayode Fatombi, a warder of the Kirikiri Custodial Centre in Lagos State, has been apprehended. He was apprehended by authorities for reportedly assisting in the escape of certain prison convicts.
According to the SurgeZirc NG, three men were arrested for alleged robbery and kidnapping. They were then arraigned before the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja.

After receiving information, the police tracked down the detainees and re-arrested them. This is when they allegedly admitted to paying the warder N500,000 each.
The suspects were tracked down and apprehended, and they confessed to giving him money to allow them to flee. The detainees admitted to paying him N500,000 a piece.
According to the source, two members of the three-man robbery team escaped, with one remaining in detention.
The warder told his superiors that he was returning the inmates to prison after their court appearance at Ikeja when he was ambushed by a gang that freed two of the suspects.
He was arrested by the jail service for a disciplinary procedure.
This was still going on when the warder talked with a police officer and hired him to chase down the escapees. He gave the crucial information that resulted in their re-arrest.

When they were re-arrested, instead of informing his correctional service bosses, he kept the information to himself.
The Lagos Controller tried to talk to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police about possible inter-agency collaboration, but it didn’t work.
