‘Black Widow’ Star Scarlett Johansson Ends Lawsuit Against Disney

American actress, Scarlett Ingrid Johansson, better known as Scarlett Johansson, has agreed to end lawsuit against Disney.

The actress filed a complaint against Disney (DIS) in July, alleging that they violated her contract by releasing a Marvel film she featured in, “Black Widow,” on a streaming app, Disney+ on the same day it was released in theaters.

According to the lawsuit, putting “Black Widow” on Disney+ reduced Johansson’s financial stake in the film because she committed to have her income dependent in part on the film’s box office gross.

In July, Disney responded by claiming, “This filing has no validity whatsoever.” “We fully complied with Ms. Johansson’s contract,” the studio noted at the time, adding that “the release of ‘Black Widow’ on Disney+ with Premier Access has considerably boosted her ability to earn extra remuneration on top of the $20 million she has received to date.”

The actress and Disney reached an agreement on Thursday, September 30.

She claimed she was “glad to have settled our disagreements” in a statement released on Thursday.

Johansson remarked, “I’m tremendously proud of the work we’ve done together over the years and have greatly loved my creative partnership with the team.”

“I am looking forward to working with you in the future.”

The agreement’s terms were not made public.

Disney values Johansson’s “contributions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe” and looks forward to collaborating with her on a variety of new projects, including Disney’s “Tower of Terror,” according to Alan Bergman, head of Disney Studios Content.

The opening weekend of “Black Widow” raked in $80 million in North America. According to the company, the film also generated $60 million on Disney+ that weekend.
