He made an appearance in the UEFA Champions League for the senior team and played numerous matches for the second team.
Under the management of Vincent Kompany, Burnley has secured the services of Coulibaly on a temporary basis, bringing him to England.
If he performs well during the Premier League season, following Burnley’s immediate promotion from the Championship, the club will exercise the option to sign him permanently for £15 million.
Born in Montfermeil, France, to Malian parents, Coulibaly represented France at the under-16 and under-17 levels in 2019.
Burnley has been active in the transfer market, bolstering their defensive options by acquiring Jordan Beyer and Dara O’Shea, as well as goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux.
Additionally, they are expected to sign Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford for a reported fee of £19 million.
Trafford gained recognition for his crucial double-save in the final moments of England’s victory in the UEFA Under-21 European Championship.
