Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, according to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has worked relentlessly for Nigeria, Africa, and the black race.
In a message of congratulations to Obasanjo, who turned 85 on March 5, Tinubu said the former president has remained devoted to the greatness of our dear country and has made some very helpful contributions.
According to the former Lagos state governor, he and Obasanjo disagreed on various matters, but there was no hatred between them. “There have been instances where I have disagreed with President Obasanjo on important substantive issues. Our debates have been spirited yet always professional and without personal animus.”

Tinubu, who claimed to have earned his stripes as a statesman, cited the previous president’s bravery and courage as two significant characteristics. “Baba Obasanjo is bold and courageous and will continue to be so for that is the essence of his character,” he said.
He asked to God to keep Obasanjo alive for many more years, to grant him good health, and to give him more vitality so that he may continue to serve Nigeria.
