Tottenham Hotspur has discovered one Coronavirus carrier on its team in the latest round of testing carried by the Premier League officials.
The positive result came from a batch of 1,197 tests carried out on players and staff at English top division clubs last Monday and Tuesday.

In line with medical confidentiality, the name of the club and individual remained undisclosed until Tottenham released a statement.
Tottenham’s statement on their website read: “We have been informed by the Premier League that we have received one positive test for Covid-19 following the latest round of testing at our training center.”
“Due to medical confidentiality, the individual’s name will not be disclosed. The individual is asymptomatic and will now self-isolate for seven days in-line with the league’s medical protocol, before undergoing further testing.”
“We shall continue to strictly adhere to the Premier League’s return to training protocol, which ensures our training center remains a safe and virus-free working environment.”

After five rounds of testing for Covid-19, the total positive results has increased to 13 persons.
Premier League players and staff are currently tested twice a week with the league set to resume on June 17.
