The Green New Deal, a congressional resolution outlining a strategy for combating climate change, has never been passed by lawmakers and Biden has never officially endorsed it.
Trump, on the other hand, uses the word in a broader sense to describe other Biden administration energy measures, such as the EPA’s planned limitations on car greenhouse gas emissions and the Department of Transportation’s increased fuel economy standards.
The former president also urged the United Auto Workers union, which has yet to endorse Biden’s reelection candidature, to instead endorse his presidential campaign, which it has stated it will not do.
“I hope the United Auto Workers is listening because I believe you should support Trump because I am going to grow your business while they are destroying your business,” he stated.
