Twitter has officially bid farewell to its iconic bird logo and embraced the letter ‘X’ as its new official logo.
This follow an announcement by its CEO, Elon Musk, over the weekend. The change has already been implemented on the platform.

Interestingly, Musk mentioned that x.com now redirects to twitter.com. He referred to the new logo as an “interim” one, hinting at the possibility of further logo changes in the future.
But the logo switch may not be the only change coming to the social network.
Musk indicated that Twitter will eventually move away from the Twitter brand entirely, including removing all bird-related elements.
Musk, known for his fascination with the letter ‘X,’ founded X.com in 1997, which later became PayPal.
His space company SpaceX also has an ‘X’ logo, and his AI venture is named X.ai. In April, Twitter’s legal name was changed from Twitter Inc. to X Corp under Musk’s ownership.
The Tesla CEO has repeatedly expressed his vision of turning Twitter into an “X, the everything app.”
It appears he aims to transform the platform into a comprehensive global marketplace for various services, ideas, and opportunities, focusing on audio, video, messaging, and payment/banking features.
This is not the first time Musk has altered Twitter’s logo. Earlier this year, he temporarily changed it to the Doge meme.
Now, with the latest ‘X’ logo, there’s an extension available to restore the classic bird logo for those who prefer it.
Interestingly, Twitter did not initially have the bird logo.
It officially adopted the famous “Larry the bird” logo in 2010, named after Larry Bird, the legendary Boston Celtics basketball player.

The recent logo change follows Musk’s response to a user, acknowledging that Twitter is still facing financial challenges due to a significant drop in advertising revenue and a substantial debt load.
With the shift in branding, Twitter seems to be embracing Musk’s vision of transformation into an all-encompassing platform, though its full impact remains to be seen.
