Juventus has been hit with a one-year ban from European competitions by UEFA due to violations of club licensing and financial fair play (FFP) regulations.
Along with the ban, the club has been fined €20 million, with half of the fine being conditional and enforced only if there are financial irregularities in the club’s annual statements for the next three years.

The ban means Juventus will miss the 2023-24 Europa Conference League, and Fiorentina is likely to take their place, having finished eighth in Serie A last season.
Aston Villa’s seeding for the upcoming two-legged play-offs will also be affected due to the ban.
UEFA stated that Juventus violated the regulatory framework and breached the settlement agreement signed in 2022, which led to the sanctions.
Despite the punishment, Juventus has decided not to appeal the decision to focus on the upcoming season.
The investigation into Juventus’ alleged financial violations started in December, focusing on player registration revenues between 2019 and 2021.
Previously, UEFA had reached a settlement with the club, taking into account the pandemic’s impact on club finances.
However, the investigation continued based on new information from the public prosecutor.
Earlier this year, Juventus faced sanctions in Serie A and accepted a plea-bargain fine related to a separate sporting case concerning inflated player trading revenue.
The club maintains that they have operated lawfully and ethically, denying any wrongdoing.

The ban and financial penalties pose challenges for Juventus, but they aim to focus on their on-field performance and seek to provide clarity to their stakeholders regarding future international competitions.
With the decision finalized, the club can move forward and concentrate on the upcoming season with a sense of certainty.
