Watford defender Adrian Mariappa has revealed he tested positive for coronavirus.
He made this statement after The Premier League had announced six positive results from three clubs were recorded when 748 tests were conducted on players and staff of 19 EPL teams.
Speaking to The Telegraph Sport, He said: “It’s quite scary how you can feel absolutely fine and have not really left the house, and yet you still get the virus.”
“If it wasn’t for the fact that I had gone back to training and had this test, then I’d never have found out I had the virus and I would just be getting on with things as normal. That’s obviously quite a strange thought.”

“My lifestyle is very quiet, certainly no parties or going out or anything, so I really don’t know how I got it.”
“I live with three of my children who are five, nine, and eleven, and my partner. Obviously, now I’m a bit worried about them. They are all fine and not showing any symptoms, but you can’t help but think about it and keep your distance once you know you have tested positive,” He said.
The Jamaican International who is asymptomatic to the virus said he felt as fit as ever.

Before the news about Watford’s test result broke out, club captain Troy Deeney had already said in a YouTube interview that he wasn’t returning to training because he felt more concerned about his family’s health.
Meanwhile, Burnley has confirmed that assistant coach Ian Woan tested positive for coronavirus.
Those who tested positive will now self-isolate for seven days.
Due to the outbreak of the pandemic, The English Premier League has been in a hiatus since March 13, with 92 fixtures left to play.
The League was slated to restart on June 12, but due to the recent developments on the health status of some players and staff, it is now likely this date would be pushed back.
