Wike was intoxicated, not poisoned, according to Atiku’s assistant. Former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has been warned to minimize his alcohol use after it was revealed that his liver and kidneys failed due to “poisoning.”
Phrank Shaibu, the Special Assistant on Public Communication to Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate for 2023, has encouraged the governor to take adequate care of his health.

Wike previously stated at a Thanksgiving gathering on Sunday that his liver and kidneys failed after he was poisoned in the PDP Secretariat in 2018.
Shaibu, on the other hand, stated that Wike has always been upfront about his love of booze, particularly whiskey, which he has admitted to drinking in the early hours of the morning.
He stated that given Wike’s drinking habits, he was most likely suffering from alcohol poisoning rather than food sickness.
Governor Wike has always been open about his undeniable love of whiskey. He even stated in March that he was drinking a 40-year-old whisky with his friends while watching Atiku and others protest on television at 11 a.m.
Governor Wike has also been seen in recordings drinking and dancing, including one with former Governor Rochas Okorocha. If Wike was poisoned and his organs failed, he should be a teetotaller and drinking less by now.
I am not a medical doctor, but it is common knowledge that excessive alcohol consumption causes high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, liver disease, cancer of the breast, mouth, throat, oesophagus, voice box, liver, colon, and rectum, he stated.

Other problems associated with excessive drinking include: immune system weakness, which increases the likelihood of getting sick; learning and memory problems, including dementia; and poor sexual performance.
Wike should seek within. Let us suppose he got poisoned by eating. “Was it food poisoning that caused his harsh and husky voice?”
