While the country is still fighting with the spread of the confirmed global pandemic known as COVID-19, Members of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) are set to announce the new coronavirus protocols on Thursday, August 6, 2020.

The team held a meeting with President Muhammandu Buhari on Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja to discuss the ongoing measures that will be put in place to cap the spread of the virus.

The Chairman of the PTF, Boss Mustapha announced on Monday at the regular nationwide briefing in Abuja that the team will submit its 6th updated report on the state of Coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria to President Buhari ahead of the announcement.

The report was anticipated to review the state of the virus infections, detailing response mechanism so far, and the new guidelines.

The meeting was attended by Mustapha, the PTF’s national coordinator, Sani Aliyu, the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, and the Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Chikwe Ihekweazu.

The pandemic has impacted many citizens negatively, however, the daily death toll has decreased to a low record, showing that more people are overcoming the virus.
