The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Council for Edo governorship elections has accused the All Progressives Congress candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu for presenting a forged document.
This comes after Ize-Iyamu, who is a candidate for the Edo forthcoming governorship elections, presented the “Simple Agenda” campaign manifesto in Edo North. However, PDP described it as a plagiarized and fake document.

In a statement approved by the secretary of the council’s publicity sub-committee, Kola Ologbondiyan on Thursday, August 13, 2020, the opposition party disclosed that the emptiness of the APC candidate’s agenda reveals his nervousness for wanting to use the Edo state governorship position to get legal protection and dodge prosecution for suspected corruption.
The statement read: “The APC has destroyed its own campaign as the people of Edo state cannot abandon a performing government under the PDP candidate, Governor Godwin Obaseki, with his highly acceptable, practical and development-driven MEGA manifesto, and go for the discredited APC with its candidate that has no plans to develop the state.
“The emptiness of the SIMPLE agenda underlines why the APC campaign has been empty, lacking in content and bereft of any bearing to development of Edo state. It also explains why the APC candidate, Ize-Iyamu, always stammers whenever he is confronted with questions on the document.”
The statement further disclosed why the opposition party cannot partake on an issue-based campaign but only to start violence and use humiliated political leaders such as the former national chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomhole, to overheat the programme.
“This campaign direction of the APC has also validated the position of the people of Edo State that the APC has no mission in the state other than to attempt to use its candidate, Ize-Iyamu to gain access, pillage the resources and suppress the people.

“However, such plots have fallen flat in the face of the overwhelming support of the vast majority of Edo people for our candidate, Governor Obaseki, whose MEGA manifesto remains a practical testimony of achievements, promises kept and roadmap for further massive development of the state,” added the statement.
The PDP campaign applauded the Edo people for supporting Governor Obaseki in his winning movement regardless of the harshness, lies, and violence of the APC. The party also stated that the APC’s tricks will never take away the determination of the people to vote for the PDP and re-elect their choice leader, governor Obaseki in the coming elections.
