Kensington Palace announced Monday that British royal Kate Middleton is self-isolating after coming into contact with someone who tested positive for the coronavirus.
A spokesperson for the palace said, “Last week the Duchess of Cambridge came into contact with someone who has subsequently tested positive for COVID-19.

“Her Royal Highness is not experiencing any symptoms, but is following all relevant government guidelines and is self-isolating at home.”
The 39-year-old duchess, the wife of Queen Elizabeth II’s grandson Prince William, was forced to cancel her planned attendance at events commemorating Britain’s National Health Service’s 73rd anniversary.
William, who reunited with his estranged brother Prince Harry last week, is not required to self-isolate and is still expected to attend the events.
The Duchess of Cambridge attended a number of events last week, including the Wimbledon tennis championships on Friday and England’s Euro 2020 soccer victory over Germany on Tuesday, both with William and their son Prince George.
Meanwhile, in May, both Kate and William received their first doses of a coronavirus vaccine.

William was diagnosed with the disease in April, around the same time as his father, heir-to-the-throne Prince Charles, with media reports claiming he was “hit pretty hard” and “struggled to breathe.”
