As the 14-day lockdown continues in Nigeria, COVID19 cases continue rise as Lagos governer’s house confirms10 new infections.
On Thursday afternoon, Commissioner of Health in Lagos, Prof Akin Abayoni took to twitter to report that no less than 10 staff members who are associated to the Lagos State House in Marina have tested positive to COVID-19.

The professor continued to state that although they have confirmed the positive cases, the incident Commander Governor of Lagos State Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the first lady Joke Sanwo Olu have tested negative for the virus after being conducting tests for the third time.
“I am glad to announce that #COVID19 Incident Commander, Governor of Lagos State @jidesanwoolu, and the First Lady of Lagos @jokesanwoolu, have consistently tested negative for #COVID19 following three consecutive tests conducted on them recently.
“However, 10 persons associated with Lagos State House in Marina have tested positive to COVID-19,” the tweet states.

Abayoni continued to urge the citizens of the big state to continue taking precautions to prevent the spread of COVID19 by saying “On behalf of @followlasg, I, therefore, implore you all to continue to embrace the #MaskUpLagos initiative and observe all precautionary measures such as physical distancing, hand washing and other personal hygiene,” he added.
Reports state that the security personal have been instructed to maintain strict enforcement of movement in and out of the State House, as they try to tackle the issue at hand.
The state remains as the city that has the highest COVID19 infections in Nigeria with 1491 confirmed cases. The total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria has risen to 3526 with only 601 recoveries.
