Liverpool’s captain Jordan Henderson admitted it would be really strange to lift the Premier League Trophy at Anfield without the team’s fans in attendance.
Jurgen Klopp’s side was on a mission to win the team’s first league title since 1990. They held a 25-point lead at the top of the league’s table before the league was suspended due to the outbreak of the pandemic.

With the return of the Premier League in view, Henderson could be lifting the EPL trophy with no fans to cheer on. The midfielder said it would be unusual if that was the case, but his team still had some more work to do.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Henderson said: “Of course, it would feel different and pretty strange winning any trophy and receiving it in the absence of your supporters.” It is not over, we still have work to do. We need to perform at a high level until the season finishes because it is right we finish strongly so we can be assured it is a full season.”

Furthermore, He said: “Whether we win the league or not, we would have to deal with receiving the trophy with our fans not being there. The fans make a big difference and we all know that.”
Talking about the team’s training sessions, Henderson said: “For us at Liverpool, it has been really good. It feels great to get back, and everyone on the team feels safe and comfortable.”
Liverpool among other EPL clubs have returned to training last week with stringent health protocols observed, including training in groups of 3 to 5 players.
