Inflection AI, a Palo Alto-based startup aiming to democratize personal AI, has secured an impressive $1.3 billion in funding.
The company is led by industry giants Microsoft, Nvidia, and other prominent investors such as Reid Hoffman, Bill Gates, and Eric Schmidt.

With this funding, the company’s total raised fund amounts to $1.525 billion, valuing Inflection at an impressive $4 billion.
Inflection, co-founded by CEO Mustafa Suleyman, a former DeepMind executive, plans to leverage the capital to develop their flagship product, an AI-powered assistant named Pi.
Suleyman believes that personal AI will be a game-changing tool and an inflection point in the lives of it’s users.
“Personal AI is going to be the most transformational tool of our lifetimes. This is truly an inflection point,” Suleyman said in a statement.
“We’re excited to collaborate with Nvidia, Microsoft, and CoreWeave as well as Eric, Bill and many others to bring this vision to life,” he added.
Pi, designed to provide tailored knowledge and support, was unveiled by Inflection earlier this year.
It offers friendly advice and information in a natural and flowing manner, catering to users’ individual interests and needs.
The AI model powering Pi, called Inflection-1, has demonstrated strong performance on various measures, rivaling or surpassing peers such as OpenAI’s GPT-3.5 and Google’s PaLM-540B.
To further enhance their AI capabilities, Inflection is collaborating with Nvidia and CoreWeave to build one of the world’s largest AI training clusters.
The cluster will comprise 22,000 Nvidia H100 GPUs. This investment will bolster Inflection’s pursuit of larger and more powerful AI models.
Inflection’s successful funding round solidifies its position as the second-best-funded generative AI startup, trailing only OpenAI in terms of funding raised to date.
