The cause of death for all nine passengers on board the helicopter crash that took the life of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna has been ruled as blunt force trauma, an autopsy result has revealed.
On Friday, The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner, published the autopsy results from the examination of those who lost their lives in the incident at Calabasas, California on January 25, 2020.
The statement released by the medical department read that: “On January 28, the cause of death for all nine deceased persons was certified as blunt force trauma. The manner of death was certified as an accident.”

It was reported that the crash occurred amid heavy fog, but an investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. Some officials say there is no evidence that the helicopter’s engine failed.
Other passengers on board the helicopter with the Bryants include Alyssa Altobelli, John Altobelli, Keri Altobelli, Payton Chester, Sarah Chester, Christina, Mauser, and Pilot Ara George Zobayan.
The 180-page report also revealed that Pilot Zobayan tested negative for drugs and alcohol.
Kobe Bryant was a five-time NBA Champion during his playing time with the Los Angeles Lakers, which spanned 20years. He was named the League’s MVP in 2008.

He was also selected for the All-Star Game on 18 occasions, and he received an All NBA First-Team honors on 11 occasions.
The two-time Olympic Gold Medalists’, jersey numbers of 8 and 24 were retired by LA Lakers following his death aged 41.
