Terrorists reportedly killed two locals in Gidan Diyam and kidnapped two others in Dayi community, Malumfashi Local Government Area, Katsina State, in the early hours of Saturday.
In the new onslaught on the community, a building material seller, Ejike Hyginus, also known as ‘Yellow,’ and one Mustapha, a health worker attached to the Dayi Primary Healthcare, were kidnapped.

“In order to have access to Yellow’s compound, the bandits pulled down completely the entrance gate to his residence.
“When they entered into his house, they demanded money but he had no money in the house to give them. Before dragging him away, they also collected his wife’s phone,” a source revealed.
According to the source, the hoodlums also stopped at Mustapha’s house, which is close to “Yellow’s,” and kidnapped him before moving on to the next location.
However, the family head allegedly escaped by jumping the fence in the third house. After breaking into his house, they met his wife, who had just given birth to twins but was released because of the babies.
As of the time of writing, the bandits had yet to contact the victims’ families in order to make a demand or disclose their location.

When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isah, stated that he had not been briefed but would contact the DPO of the area and respond.
Dayi is the hometown of ACP Aminu Umar, the tenacious Assistant Commissioner of Police and former Dutsinma Area Commander who was assassinated by terrorists a few months ago.
